Measure job fair results beyond resume counts

Michigan Skilled Trades Job Fairs • Published October 18, 2026

Resume counts show activity, but they do not explain whether an event supported your hiring goals. Define useful measures before the event so your team collects the right information.

Put it into practice

  1. Track meaningful conversations, completed applications, interviews, and hires by event source where your system supports it.
  2. Record the roles you promoted and any obstacles candidates repeatedly raised.
  3. Review outcomes over an appropriate period rather than declaring success immediately after the event.

Make the next step count

Use the results to improve booth messaging, application steps, and follow-up. A lower-volume event can still be valuable if it produces qualified conversations for a difficult role. Avoid attributing every later hire to the event without supporting records.
